Well I certainly didn't teach her that!

My kids usually draw attention in public. Most of the time, people are making comments about how adorable and sweet they are. Sometimes the attention is about how well behaved they are in public. Today was not one of those days.

Well okay, it started that way...

As a side note, we don't watch regular TV around my kids. Heck, we don't even listen to the regular radio when they are in the car. We try to watch our language around them.

Today, we were at the doctor's office waiting room. It was crowded, with almost everyone in there being a baby boomer or older. Baby Boy was being entertained by an older woman to my left who was giggling at him and playing peek-a-boo. My 3 year old Daughter was playing with her Merida doll and talking to an older gentleman to our right. Hey, they were content and well behaved in a doctor's office, what more can I ask for? Right? Right??

At some point during our wait, I look over and my daughter is stroking Merida's...chest. She turned to the old man and said "These are Merida's boobs!" I would like to say that it was I who took charge of the situation and told her to stop. Unfortunately, I buried my head in my husband's shoulder and stifled a giggle. He had the pleasure of saying "Please stop!" She did stop, for the moment. She also got out of her chair, stood in front of myself and my husband, and did something even more shocking. My 3 year old sweet little angel raised her shirt up and said (quite loudly) "Look at my BOOBS!"

Color me mortified.

My husband yanked her shirt down and told her we don't show people our private parts.

At this point, my husband and I give each other dumbfounded looks. "Hey," I said first, "I certainly didn't teach her that!"

Today would be the day that I learned that even if you think you have kept your kids pretty sheltered, they can shock the pants off of you.

Or the shirt.
